Samy Worm: How Did It Work?

As shown, the Samy worm was relatively harmless, and thankfully so. To create this worm, Samy would create a profile on Myspace and hide a worm in it. Once someone viewed his profile, the worm would then infect their system and profile. The person would unwillingly send a friend request to Samy and have the phrase “But most of all, Samy is my hero” pasted onto the front of their page’s bio. Whenever a user viewed a profile infected with this worm, they would also be infected.
